    I use a program that really is a no fluff and inexpensive one called "Type It". It's a book (no CDRom, etc) that organizes typing lessons in phonetic pattern groups (like fan, man, can....etc.) so even 1st graders can start it. It costs about $9-$12 (I think) and is available through Elijah CO. You can access them through the net:
