I have this posted elsewhere and haven't received an answer. Perhaps someone here has some thoughts and suggestions, since I am new to this. I have Spelling Power and I have ACSI Spelling for my 5th grader that I bought before I decided to follow a classical approach. I am trying to decide if I should keep or sell these. I did read the post below on Spelling Power and have used this in the past. I am still not sure if I should keep or sell; whether to use it as a supplement and if so, how to use it as a supplement. Also does the ACSI follow a classical approach to spelling. I read the Well Trained Mind and they suggest MCP Spelling Workout. Has anyone used this? Can you start an older child in it and get the spelling rules covered? I also own Understanding Writing and have not seen it mentioned anywhere. Is this a useable classical approach to writing? Well Trained Mind suggests Writing Strands and I have seen IEW suggested. |
