macrons/Latin Road to English

	I have just begun to tutor a 13 yr old who has just finished Vol 1 of the Latin Road... I am puzzled about something. I was looking thru the book and realized that the author used macrons alot and yet--there was no macron over the a in the infinitive form of 1st conjugation verbs! Also, she didn't use it consistently when having them write the ablative ending of the 1st declension. Is anyone familiar with this curriculum who could explain this strange phenomena??
