I am a homeschool mom who has a 4th grade boy and a 1st grade girl. I currently use Covenant Home Curriculum for both kids for their language. I have recently ordered Artes Latinae for my son to begin after we met a brick wall in Latin using the Latin Primer 1 which, in my opinion, is very poorly written and should NOT be recommended for us homeschoolers.I am very interested in seeing what other options are out there for us, specifically in science and history. We are not unit study people but enjoy both subjects greatly.I like the Veritas Press idea of studying history with both texts and literature but not sure I want to start it with my son next year in 5th grde. I am most interested in more academically challenging curriculum with a teacher-friendly format ( e.g. lesson plans). I am now using A Beka for everything except language as I mentioned. I have seen the Critical Thinking Skills books that Trivium suggests but am not sure how to use them with my 4th grade son. Would love some help!! Lisa |
