    > I am looking for good information to enrich a study for older grade school kids about the tabernacle, the different offerings, the Jewish feasts and other areas of cerimonial law as we read through that part of the Old Testament. I remember good teaching on it in my Baptist childhood with models to build. Is this material still available? Anything close?

Sycamore Tree has the models (paper ones) on their web site. The Tabernacle was one of them in their offerings last year. I don't know if they still carry them... they've made some changes in their offerings.
You might also want to consult Zola Levitt's ministries. If anyone had anything like that.. he would have it or be aware of it. He has a great two tape video series on the 7 feasts of Isreal, and he does a great job relating the feasts to the gentile Christian, and relates the feasts to the life of Christ and his return.

There is also the "Family Guide to the Biblical Holidays"
by Robin Scarlota and Linda Pierce, from Family Christian
Press. It has some great stuff for the younger set (cut and
paste and color) and more intellectual material for the
older child. We've been very happy with the series.

I'll give you a short quote from the guide on page 539:

Studies have shown the Tetragrammaton probably appeared over Jesus when He hung on the cross. During Bible times, messages were commonly written with the first letter of each word. An example in English: UPS, stands for United Parcel Service. The phrase "Jesus of Nazareth and King of the Jews" was written in three languages on a sign above Jesus as He hung on the cross (John 19:19). "Jesus of Nazareth and King of the Jews" initials in Hebrew was YHWH*. That is why the priest asked Pilate to change the writing. <i> Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews. Pilate answered, What I have written I have written (John 19:22)

(end of quote) *yod hay vav hay. It is how God is refered
to the OT. Neat hu?

So.. it has interesting stuff for Mom and Dad along with
the "kiddy stuff" ...

I also recall seeing books similar along the lines you are
looking being offered by a 7th Day Adventist who was
working in my neighboring part of Russia. I don't know if
she produced the materials herself.. or if they "canned"
from her church.. or if someone else donated them. I'll see
what I can find out...if interested write me privately
